Production Water Disposal and Containment Services

Our state-of-the-art facility allows us to be leaders of the industry in both efficiency and safety. It allows us to fill clients needs, no matter how tall or difficult the order. It absolutely adheres to the strictest industry standards.

When oilfield “production water” and other production fluids arrive at the IWM facility, it begins a unique and proprietary journey through our plant. Using a complex series of tanks and processes the water is cleaned of nearly 100% of hydrocarbons. That water then makes its way to our evaporation ponds and eventually our disposal well, which is the cleanest in the industry. This is good for our customers’ liability concerns, good for our industry, and good for the environment.

IWM Process Stream

Processed water is picked up and trucked in to the IWM facility. Multiple automated, full-service off-loading stations ensure minimal wait times.
Production water is off-loaded into the IWM process stream where it begins a unique and proprietary journey through our plant.

Our large holding capacity allow us to easily accommodate demand peaks.
Using a complex series of tanks and processes, the water is cleaned of nearly 100% hydrocarbons. Waste water is constantly monitored and analyzed for quality control, using the correct amount of air filtrate and odor control to comply with state and federal regulations as well as local community standards.

Solid Waste Management & Disposal

Integrated Water Management® and Peak Well Service® are pleased to announce the permitting of our dedicated oil and gas exploration and production solid waste landfill. As of summer 2014, we are now one of the only facilities in the Intermountain West permitted to accept drilling mud, filters, drill cuttings, pit liners and other E&P waste streams for treatment and disposal.
The handling and disposal of drill cuttings and drilling mud is a time consuming expense and complex environmental problem for drilling rig operators. Drill cuttings can potentially contaminate the surrounding environment and remain a lingering liability until removed from the site. The liability and cost of on-site management and disposal of cutting and drilling mud takes focus away from what drillers and producers do best – produce energy.

Peak Well Services provides transportation and logistics. IWM will handle the remediation of your solid waste utilizing our land farm or licensed E&P solid and hazardous waste landfill and capture waste water in our disposal well. Our facility and processes adhere to the strictest standards; we take the responsibility of being good environmental stewards very seriously. IWM’s treatment and disposal services help ensure minimal impact on the surrounding environment, which translates to maximum compliance with applicable regulations and minimal liability to producers.

Soil Remediation

Landfarming, also known as land treatment or land application, is an above-ground remediation technology for soils that reduce concentrations of petroleum constituents through biodegradation. Our Landfarming techniques stimulate aerobic microbial activity within the soils through aeration and/or the addition of minerals, nutrients, and moisture.

IWM’s Soil Remediation Process

  • RCRA exempt contaminated soils are trucked directly to the IWM facility.
  • Soils are subjected to a paint filter test to determine moisture content.
  • Biodegrading (hydrocarbon scavenging) organisms are introduced.
  • The soil is worked for approximately 45 days until 99.9% of hydrocarbons are removed and State of Utah standards are met or surpassed.
  • The soil is removed from from the land farm and employed on IWM’s 90-acre facility where it is used for land contours (berms, etc.) or fill material.

Our Quality Assurance Practices:

  • We employ industry best practices to reduce air emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
  • IWM’s Landfarm has been located on a geologically unique site with impermeable bedrock surrounded by a clay core berm to insure all soil decontamination and Landfarming activities and products remain safe within in the farm and out of the environment
  • We are working towards the fastest remediation times in the entire industry.
  • IWM’s Landfarm is fully certified and permitted in compliance with all state and federal regulations
  • Our facility can be easily accessed right off State Highway 87 (7 miles north of Duchesne toward Altamont)
